Specifically for young people who wish to have a chance to experience what the sport is all about. Centre based on our climbing wall and abseil face. All specialist equipment provided.

 

 

Climb / Abseil - Getting Started
Duration: 1 Day / Age: 10+

A follow-up to ’Climbing – come and try it’, or,
for the enthusiastic total beginner. Instruction
on the correct equipment to use, simple and safe ropework and belaying techniques. Lots of climbing and abseiling. All specialist equipment provided.

 

 

Climbing - Starting the Grades
Duration: 2 Day  / Age: 14+

A 2-day course for those wishing to start climbing on their own using top or bottom roping techniques. Instruction will be given on how to improve your movement on the rock along with advice on rigging set-ups. All technical equipment provided.

 

 

 

Learning to Lead Climb
Duration: 2 Day / Age: 16+

For those with some experience who wish to
progress to ground up ascents, this 2-day course with its 1:2 ratio allows participants to quickly progress to leading routes placing their own protection. All technical equipment provided with the exception of rock boots.
Pre-requisites - some top roping experience on local outcrops would allow the participant to benefit most from this course.

 

 

Multi-Pitch Climbing Techniques
Duration: 2 Day / Age: 16+

The 2 days will focus on ropework, stance
organisation, gear placement and retreating skills. With a 1:2 teaching ratio the emphasis will be on gaining independence in this exciting and challenging aspect of the sport.
Pre-requisites - experience of leading on single pitch crags.

 

 

Improvised Rescue Techniques
Duration: 2 Day / Age: 16+

Ever wondered how you would get out of a tricky situation? This 2-day course looks at different emergency situations, how they arise, how to cope and most importantly how to avoid them. Bring your own climbing equipment and gadgets and let’s see if they work!
